Policies and Guidelines
Attendance:
Enrollment is for a continuous period from September (or date of your enrollment) to May. Dancers are expected to complete the year’s curriculum. In order to remain in the level of the class, dancers should maintain good attendance and be on time for the beginning of the class.
Inclement Weather:
In the event of inclement weather, we will follow the Lewisburg School District’s decision on this issue. If the Lewisburg schools are closed, we will be closed as well. There will also be postings on our website under News regarding cancellation of classes due to weather conditions. Announcements regarding cancellation will also be made on the following Radio Stations: WKOK, WHLM, and WQKX.
Class Make Up Policy:
Refunds will not be given for classes missed due to inclement weather or illness. Should a dancer miss her/his regular class, he/she may make up the missed class by attending any other class at or below his/her level.
Parent Observation Policy:
Parents will be welcome to observe classes from within the studio the first week of every month. All other times, seating will be available in the hallway for parents’ convenience. This is to encourage our students to remain focused on the instruction with as little distraction as possible.
Hair Policy:
Hair should be neatly up and secured for every class. Buns are preferred.
Other policies regarding Classroom Attire:
- No jewelry allowed, except for small stud earrings.
- Form fitting warm up clothing is only permitted in the beginning of each class.
- Ballet classes need to be dressed in the colored leotard of their class.
- Dancers should wear a solid colored leotard and tights or dance pants for all Jazz and Tap classes. No loose coverings such as T-shirts or baggy sweatpants should be worn.
- Dance shoes should only be worn in the dance studio, not outside.
- Chewing gum is not allowed during class. Not only does it look bad, it is unsafe.
Payment:
Class payments are due the first class of each month for the entire month. If you discontinue part way through the month, you will be charged for the entire month. Checks returned for “Insufficient funds” will be charged a $30.00 fee.
Injury Information:
If a student has had any prior injuries that will prevent him/her from executing any movements requested of them, he/she should inform the teacher so reasonable accommodations can be made.
